The call for proposals under a green industry innovation

Soon the call for proposals under a Green industry innovation, including bio economy, focus area of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism programme “Business Development, Innovation and SMEs“ will be open.

Investments will be made into projects that develop new bio-based products, biotechnologies, new products from recycled materials, environmental technologies or new information technology products or technologies to modernize production processes while reducing their negative impact on the environment, such as digitization, automation, robotization. 

"Creating innovation requires a lot of effort and investment, thus external incentives are needed for our businesses. In Lithuania, especially in traditional industries, there are new ideas, but most of them are stuck in the development stage. This call will fund companies' projects in the fields of green technologies and the development of environmentally friendly products. We hope that this will help to achieve a breakthrough by transforming the traditional Lithuanian industry and promoting the culture of innovation in our country”, - says Ina Sinkevičiūtė, Head of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism Group at MITA. 

Investments will be allocated for development, commercialization and application of new green products and technologies. Funding will also be provided to modernize production lines, to reduce CO2 emissions/ energy consumption, encourage zero-waste manufacturing or re-use of waste.

Project implementation budget: EUR 8 017 647
Project funding amount: From EUR 10 000 to EUR 2 000 000
Potential applicants:
  • Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
  • Large enterprises with a state-owned share of no more than 25%. 

The programme sets the goal to contribute to creation of a higher added value and sustainable economic growth, as well as to boost competitiveness of Lithuanian enterprises, focusing primarily on very small, small and medium size business.
