Building a Green Europe together: discussions on the fate of the Ignalina nuclear power plant, pollution in Lithuanian lakes and other green issues

Did you know that 16 Eiffel Towers could be constructed of the metal structures still standing at the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant ? Moreover, have you heard that Lithuania generates nearly 163,000 tonnes of hazardous waste every year? Today, environmental protection and clean energy issues are becoming more and more actual, affecting not only the state, but also the daily life of every citizen.

The Central Project Management Agency presents the discussion series "Building a Green Europe Together", where journalist and broadcaster Aurelijus Bezekavičius interviews experts in environmental protection and clean energy and implementers of projects funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme.  Representatives of various Lithuanian institutions address water pollution and hazardous waste, energy, civil protection and other environmental issues in four discussions.

The series of discussions, initiated by the CPMA, is funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme. The projects under this programme aim to contribute to the implementation and improvement of sea pollution monitoring, hazardous waste identification, civil protection and other systems and activities.
