Plastering and painting with natural materials

We kindly invite you to participate in the workshop on plastering and painting with natural materials. The training will take place on 25-28 October, 2017 in the Open Air Museum of Lithuania. During the four days of training, participants will get to learn about the benefits of natural plaster and paint, different types and materials to make them, pecularities of using them on different surfaces, technologies of producing and using, acquire practical knowledge and skills in the field.  

The workshop will be led by Saulius Jackevičius (expert of plaster and paint) and Otto Stornes (craftsman, expert of paint from Norway). Other guest speakers: dr. Vytautas Levandauskas (architecture historian), Rūta Glinskytė – Kavaliauskienė (restorer), Gintaras Markevičius (producing tar), Ruslanas Aranauskas (architect).  

The number of participants is limited due to the focus on practical exercises. In case of a high number of registrations, priority will be given to those who are most likely to apply the knowledge acquired practically. Registration form >>>

All the activities will take place in the territory of the museum. Participants will be provided with acommodation and meals free of charge.


The workshop is funded by Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Lithuania under the EEA Grants programme „Conservation and Revitalization of Cultural and Natural Heritage“. The programme is being implemented by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.
